A short checklist of parenting resources is offered.
When it comes to parenting resources the internet is the mother of all libraries. If there is a parenting issue ever to be written about, there is probably somewhere on the internet something about it.
With all this wealth of parenting resources on the internet everything should be a walk in the park, now shouldn't it? You are probably aware that isn't. Finding something on the web is like searching the needle in a haystack. You must learn how to search.
The best way of gaining access relatively easy to parenting resources is to use the discussion boards or forums. There are plenty of them out there. The bigger, the better. When you have a question... well... you just ask it and somebody will be kind enough to post an answer. This is a good way of obtaining answers, but those received may not necessarily be the right ones. After all other parents will be the ones offering advice.
Psychologists are a rather strange breed and the best parenting resources ultimately lead to them. These are a little bit harder to find, because they rarely use normal words like "kids" and "proper education", they love instead words like "behavior", "authoritative" and "empathy". Anytime you want to find one of these make sure that you enter in your Google search at least one of these fancy words. Works like a charm every time.
A third option would be to go to a specialized website. These would typically have a great deal of parenting resources, many articles and an accompanying forum. Most of the time these are the best choice because they offer a comprehensive and consistent help system. There must be a nasty part though, there always is. In the case of the dedicated websites it is the bias. There is always a political agenda behind, that of course if you are lucky, if you are unlucky they will probably try to sell you something.
Sheesh I have had enough of these online parenting resources. If you had the same you can always try the traditional media. There are plenty of good parenting books out there just waiting to be bought and if that is not enough, there are always the magazines and God knows... there are plenty of them.
I hope that this parenting resources guide will help you, but in those very rare circumstances in which this should prove insufficient you can always rely on the advice of your friends or your own parents, or better still on your common sense... a very rare commodity these days.
